Apr 7, 2013. #1. I have a old foley 308 grinder and was wondering does anyone know what the sliding chain vise has on the outcome of the chain. I know foley says about moving it for left or right cutters. Just wasnt sure if it made a difference and didnt want to mess up a chain. If any body knows pleas let me know i would apprecciate it.

Paid $50.00 (store return TSC)for mine and needed to put a washer on it, replaced the wheel. Nice grinder. The Harbor Freight grinder is not as nice as the Foley, however I would consider it similar in effect. The Foley 308 allows for the swing arm to be angled, almost never need to change this.
